An ant trail through the kitchen is just the visible tip: the real colony with its queen is hidden in the ground or a wall. Treating only the visible ants guarantees they'll be back.
We use an approach in which the workers carry the product back to the colony, so the queen is reached too. Only then is the problem permanently solved. With gap sealing we keep new colonies out.
